Welcome to my blog!

Here, I write about my experiences as your Mayor and topics of interest to our community. My goal is to give you a sense of the job and how it affects us all.

This blog is also a place where I share ideas, such as for the future of our downtown, or give you information on how else you can participate in strengthening our community.

Sometimes I’ll be telling you about the major challenges and opportunities on Hampton’s horizon, such as our budget challenges, the Peninsula Town Center, Fort Monroe, a new courthouse, stimulus money projects and expansion of the American Theatre. Other times I’ll be writing about the achievements that we need to celebrate and spotlighting the people in city government and in our community who contribute so much to Hampton’s success.All this is part of finding and creating additional ways for city leaders and citizens to share more information with each other.

I hope you find my blog interesting and our other communication efforts valuable.

We live in one of the best and most historic places in America. I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about our city and its opportunities and I’d like to share more of my vision with you.
